How do I become a verified RCS sender?

Updated

Short answer

A business becomes a verified RCS sender by having an RBM partner create an agent for its brand, then passing Google's brand verification and launch approval. An authorised brand representative confirms the agent details. After launch, Google Messages shows a verification checkmark next to the agent's name. Carriers may run their own reviews.

Steps to a verified RCS agent

  1. Work with an RBM partner, which creates the agent with your brand name, logo, colour, description and contact details.
  2. Choose the use case (OTP, transactional, promotional or multi-use) and billing category. The use case cannot be changed after the agent is submitted for launch.
  3. Test the agent on registered test numbers and implement the STOP opt-out flow.
  4. Submit verification information once per agent: a named brand employee with authority to approve, plus optional supporting documents such as an authorisation letter.
  5. Submit the launch request with countries, carriers, message triggers, sample interactions and the opt-out response.
  6. The brand contact answers the authorisation email from Google, the carriers, or both.

How long does verification take?

Google states that Google-managed launches take 1 to 3 business days when brand approval arrives within 24 hours and the website, privacy policy, terms and launch questionnaire are complete and accessible. Carrier-managed launches follow each carrier's own criteria and timing.

Common delays are a distribution-list email instead of a named person, a broken website or policy link, and triggers that do not match the declared use case.

What is changing

Google says some carriers will require a verification token from a recognised Verification Authority at launch, with the agent name, logo and banner matching the token exactly. The timeline will be announced later. BroadNet, a Google RBM partner, registers verified senders for OmniChannels.ai customers during onboarding.
