Reselling and white-label

What is a white-label SMS platform?

Updated

Short answer

A white-label SMS platform is messaging software and connectivity that a reseller sells under its own brand. The reseller's logo, domain and colours appear on the console, invoices and delivery reports, while the upstream provider runs routing, operator connections and the platform. The reseller sets prices, owns the customer relationship and handles first-line support.

Features to check before you choose

  • Branded console, login domain, invoices and delivery reports.
  • Multi-tenant sub-accounts, each with its own credit, sender IDs, rate card, users and webhooks.
  • Retail rate cards with per-route markup and a margin view.
  • Prepaid and postpaid billing with top-ups, caps and suspension.
  • A reseller API to automate accounts, credit and reporting.
  • Direct routes in your markets, plus WhatsApp and RCS if you want to sell them.

White-label or build your own?

Building your own platform means signing operator or aggregator agreements, running SMPP connectivity, billing and reporting, and keeping up with each country's sender ID rules. White-label lets a reseller start selling with the provider's infrastructure and focus on sales and support.

The trade-off is dependence on one upstream provider, so check its route quality, data handling and how easily you can export your client data.

Limits to plan for

White-labelling does not move compliance away from the sender. Each client still needs registered sender IDs where regulators such as the UAE's TDRA or Saudi Arabia's CST require them, valid opt-in and compliant content. OmniChannels.ai supports this model with a white-label console, billing, invoices and reports in the partner's logo, domain and colours.
