**Definition:** WhatsApp Flows is a WhatsApp Business Platform feature for building structured, multi-screen forms inside a chat, such as bookings, lead forms, surveys or loan applications. The screens are defined in Flow JSON and can call the business's own endpoint.

A Flow is a set of screens with components such as text inputs, dropdowns, date pickers, checkboxes and media upload. The developer describes it in Flow JSON and publishes it through the Flows API or WhatsApp Manager. A Flow can be static, or it can exchange data with the business's backend through an encrypted data endpoint.

Flows can be sent inside a customer service window as an interactive message, or outside it as a template with a FLOW button. Meta's documentation covers lifecycle states, versioning, metrics and health monitoring, including alerts when an endpoint's error rate or latency degrades.

Flows suit tasks that would take many chat turns, such as choosing a branch, date and time slot, or collecting KYC details. They keep the customer inside WhatsApp instead of sending them to a web page.

Watch for slow or unavailable endpoints, which can cause Meta to throttle or block a Flow. Keep forms short, and do not collect data such as card numbers that your privacy policy and local regulations do not allow in chat.
