**Definition:** Bring your own carrier (BYOC) lets a business connect its existing telecom carrier contracts and phone numbers to a cloud voice or contact-centre platform over SIP trunks, instead of buying minutes and numbers from the platform provider.

With BYOC, the platform provides the software layer (IVR, dialers, AI voice agents, recording) while calls flow through SIP trunks to a carrier the business already uses. The business keeps its rates, numbers and carrier relationship; the platform routes calls to and from those trunks.

Typical reasons are existing negotiated rates, regulatory requirements to use a locally licensed operator, keeping numbers that customers know, and redundancy across several carriers.

The trade-off is shared responsibility: call quality, caller ID presentation, capacity and number porting depend on the carrier, so troubleshooting needs both sides. Agree codecs, channel limits, failover and who owns support tickets before going live.

OmniChannels.ai, through BroadNet's voice capability, supports BYOC SIP trunks alongside its own voice routes; voice is provisioned with the account team.
